Saturday, August 1st, 2009

Yahoo! is continuously improving its site. Recently, Yahoo! released its newest homepage that is to attract more readers and visitors. With others competing on the same genre, Yahoo! is gearing up to match their competitors.

Yahoo! redesigns its homepage and makes it more user-friendly and easily customisable. So much to say, it is personal!

The site is, on first glance, less cluttered. So relaxing it may seem, it still holds the same amount of information it used to have. Yahoo! certainly gives the best homepage so far.

Buttons and modules are lesser on the new version while search is more prominent. Yahoo! properties situated on the left side of the old version are now in a customisable menu which can be turn into an RSS reader. Users can add or remove widgets or applications from third party sites.

Yahoo! also created a wide range of widgets for launch and is accepting users’ suggestions so long as it has RSS capability. Third party developers are also expected to add more in the future.

The My Favorite Section also allows users to get a smaller window as screenshot of that particular third-party site. Users can even interact with that window, for example, if the site is for Twitter or Facebook.

The news on the homepage can also be adjusted on the user’s mood or type – from fun to to serious by just sliding the scale!

The new homepage will also be applied to mobile soon and will be first available to US followed by UK, India, France and other countries.
