For the first time, Sega launched its strongest Hispanic-oriented Wii product with the release of ‘Daisy Fuentes Pilates’ – a fitness-based game.
A former MTV VJ, Fuentes’ inclusion in the marketing strategy of Sega is a best effort knowing that she’s known in the Hispanic community aside from the fact that she really is affiliated with the game.
This newest Wii product is packaged bilingual – English and Spanish – and the advertising was done the same. Wii is also partnering with Hispanic publications as marketing efforts including Latina, People en Espanol and the Spanish version of Cosmopolitan. Other Hispanic-based online sites will also be targeted for promotions.
The project is also an experiment to test if this kind of game will be a success specially that this is also a new category since Wii came out.
