Reports say that Flickr’s iPhone app is now available in the iTunes Store for free. Taking the features of this newest app, you’ll say that it’s exceptionally done well.
Once you have downloaded this iPhone app and logged in, the front page is loaded with the images. You can also see the images from your friends.
There’s a search box at the top of the screen which has several options such as ‘all uploads,’ ‘from your contacts,’ and ‘your photostream.’
The app is so cool for Flickr users but it has limitations. Though you can put your location on the app, you can’t look for photos within your locations.

Google’s unending War vs Apple

Friday, August 14th, 2009

Once again, Apple slammed Google on latter’s suggestion to include Google Voice app on Apple Store.

Apple just blocked the search giant’s Skype-like service on its Apple Store though this application is currently available on rival phones – Androids and Blackberry smartphones – that are on an invite-only status.

According to reports, this is similar to what Apple did to Skype as the first limiting the accessibility of the latter from 3G network to WiFi availability only. This action receives various consumer criticisms. But this step is practically because Apple’s wireless carrier partner is AT&T which receives the direct disadvantage of allowing Skype to be openly available on iPhones.

The competition between Google, Apple, AT&T, Skype and other companies who are launching their products and services to be available on competitor’s users is being criticized by the consumer advocates who want these companies tied up for certain projects for the benefits of its users.

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

For the first time, Sega launched its strongest Hispanic-oriented Wii product with the release of ‘Daisy Fuentes Pilates’ – a fitness-based game.

A former MTV VJ, Fuentes’ inclusion in the marketing strategy of Sega is a best effort knowing that she’s known in the Hispanic community aside from the fact that she really is affiliated with the game.

This newest Wii product is packaged bilingual – English and Spanish – and the advertising was done the same. Wii is also partnering with Hispanic publications as marketing efforts including Latina, People en Espanol and the Spanish version of Cosmopolitan. Other Hispanic-based online sites will also be targeted for promotions.

The project is also an experiment to test if this kind of game will be a success specially that this is also a new category since Wii came out.
