Tuesday, January 12th, 2010AOL is closing the French and German offices in an attempt to reduce their global workforce. Two-hundred and forty jobs will be lost as a result of the closures. They were not able to meet their quota from a voluntary program put forth to employees.
Google Search is Bigger
Saturday, September 12th, 2009Did you notice yesterday that when you used Google, the search box was wider? In addition, the font for the text was much bigger. While I do not think this is particularly bad, I wonder why they couldn’t make a note on the page letting us know. I actually thought that my computer had done an update and one of my settings had been changed.
I have spent time worrying about things changing and just read on another site that Google had made the changes themselves. Until I get used to the screen, I find it irritating but at the same time, it is easier to see for many people.
Like I said, I do not think it is a bad thing, I just wish I would have realized the change was legit and not something going on with my system!
NEWS UPDATE - Twitter DOS
Thursday, August 6th, 2009Just a quick update for those who are not aware. It is just before 2:00 in the afternoon EST and it appears that Twitter is still unavailable.
Apparently, they were hit with a DOS (denial of service attack) this morning and are still trying to recover.
